A great curriculum should do more than prepare pupils for examinations. It should help them understand the world and give them the confidence to take their place within it.

At The John Wallis Church of England Academy, we are unapologetically ambitious about academic achievement.

Our pupils deserve access to powerful knowledge, excellent teaching and qualifications that keep future choices open. But knowledge is only the beginning. We want pupils to ask questions, make connections and apply what they learn. We want them to become resilient when something is difficult, curious when something is unfamiliar and confident enough to form their own considered views.

Our curriculum is built around three commitments:

We give pupils the knowledge to understand their world, question it and participate fully within it. We want them to become curious, thoughtful young people with a genuine love of learning.

We encourage pupils to look beyond what they already know and imagine what might be possible. We set high expectations because we believe every young person should be able to dream boldly about their future.

We nurture character, faith, compassion and a sense of purpose. Pupils learn to value themselves, care for others and recognise the responsibility they have to the wider world.
