A Warm Welcome Awaits

Starting school is a big moment, for children and for families,  and we want every child’s journey into Reception to feel happy and exciting.

At The John Wallis Church of England Academy, transition begins with relationships. We take time to get to know your child, understand what makes them unique and help them feel confident in their new surroundings.

Before September, children and families will have opportunities to visit us, meet the Reception team, explore their classrooms and begin to understand the routines of school life. We also work closely with nurseries and early years settings so that we can build on everything your child already knows and can do.

For children already attending The John Wallis Nursery, being part of an all-through Academy means that the move into Reception can feel like the next step in a journey they have already begun.

Our aim is simple: by the time September arrives, we want every child to feel that they belong here; ready to learn, ready to make friends and excited to begin school.
